Wedding Candy Bar

Trent LOVES candy. So I thought I would surprise him with a candy bar at the wedding. After a few boxes of candy were delivered to our condo - that surprise ended. But still it was a HUGE success. A little something sweet for everyone to enjoy. We even found crab chocolates to go with our Eastern Shore theme. I personally loved the m&m's with our faces on them.

Wedding Cake - A True Taste of Tradition and Delight!

Who doesn't love wedding cake? Best part of the wedding. At least I cant wait for the bride to slice the cake. The Wedding Cake was important to Trent and me through our wedding process. We tasted all the bakeries on the Eastern Shore. But it came down to the fact that we LOVE Caroline's Cakes.

Trent grew up with Caroline's Cakes. She use to sell them at Landon before she opened up her store front right before the Bay Bridge. Their Seven Layer Caramel Cake is to die for. A true southern delicacy and staple. She was also featured on Oprah. Need I say more?

My favorite is the Coconut Cloud Cake. YUM! They couldn't do the Coconut for the wedding cake (do to refrigeration)- so we had a large sheet cake of it cut up in the back - yes I had 3 different flavors for my wedding. I couldn't decide. The Grooms Cake was a Bushel of Crabs - of the Seven Layer Delight Cake, which alternates layers of Caramel Icing and rich chocolate ganache, then it is iced with our Southern Fudge Icing. As they say - "It is seven layers of pure delight!" We did a traditional white wedding cake - which was also fabulous.

If you have never had a Caroline's Cake. Order one! She ships her cakes nationwide in airtight tins. (Can also be stored away in the freezer for up to six months) They make great gifts!  I saved the top for our 1 year anniversary. Hopefully it will be just as delicious. A true taste of tradition and delight!

Come To My Wedding Table

My mom helped me design such a beautiful tablescape for my wedding. The flowers were beautiful. We gave mini chocolate crabs at everyone's seat for a gift.

The owner of the Oaks is a long time chef. So he did fabulous food for the wedding. One reason why we had our wedding at the Oaks.

We served:

Passed Hors D’oeurves:

Seared Tuna Wontons with Seaweed Salad and Plum Sauce, Chinese Pancakes with Oriental Duck and Hoison Sauce, Chilled Melon Soup, Chilled Jumbo Shrimp with Cocktail and Remoulade Sauce

Dinner:

Maryland Lump Crabcake with Fresh Corn, New Potatoes and a Green Tomato Butter Sauce

Grilled Spice Rubbed Flat Iron Steak with Mashed Potatoes, French Beans, Wild Mushrooms and Homemade Worcestershire Sauce with Fried Onions on top. Trent's Favorite. We wish we could go back all the time for food - but they only host private events. Maybe Trent's 30th Birthday?
