OITF Comes To DC

Leah allowed me to bring Trent to an OITF dinner for him to experience a bit of my life before we got married. I started this blog because of my adventures with OITF. I traveled across the country with them and put on farm dinners to teach people about where their food comes from.

It's always exciting when they come back to town and I can help out - but this year I was able to sit down and enjoy a meal. THANKS LEAH!

We went to Arcadia Farms at Woodlawn in Alexandria, VA. (Once a part of George Washington’s farms at Mount Vernon)

We had a wonderful meal prepared by Kyle Bailey & Tiffany MacIsaac - From Birch & Barley. This was a beer dinner, which we both really enjoyed trying new beers.

We look forward to the 2012 OITF dinners.

OITF Comes To DC

I helped out at an event this year with OITF. It's always fun to get back out in the field. And of course see old friends. The dinner was at Arcadia Farms at Woodlawn in Alexandria, VA. (Once a part of George Washington’s farms at Mount Vernon). Due to rain we had to set up the table in a tent - but it still was a wonderful event. I helped Eden with the wine/beer table.

Executive Chef Scott Drewno from The Source cooked a wonderful meal. One of my favorites - because of the Asian flare.

Dinner Included:
Spicy Tuna Tartare
Crispy Oyster On The Half Shell
Chicken and Wild Rice Dumplings
Country Style Steak Tartare and Grilled Bread

Grilled Nantucket Lighthouse Scallops with Heirloom tomatoes and yuzu vinaigrette

Thia Style Shrimp & Papaya Salad

The Famous Dung Po Style Leaping Waters Porkbelly with Baby Eggplant (from Arcadia Farms)

Creekstone Farms Korean BBQ Beef Tenderloin & Gochijang Marinate with Purple Potatoes

Wild huckleberrry Crumble with Spiced Whip Cream
